Hugo is an analog photographer using large format wooden cameras and old lenses to make images of people, places and things. Camera formats that Hugo uses range from 4x5 all the way up to 16x20 inches. Hugo processes all his own negatives in the darkroom and contact printing using silver gelatin photographic papers. Hugo has been pursuing this passion for the last 20 years, and to this day has never owned a digital camera. Hugo is a worldwide dealer of Chamonix View Cameras, providing tools to other LF photographers to pursue their dreams.
The only other passion in his life that can rival photography is open ocean swimming. Hugo has completed two Marathon swims including the Catalina Channel and Qiongzhou Strait in China (20 miles).
